Work alongside qualified instructors in English Language Acquisition (ELA), Language Arts, and Math courses or in our Learning Lab where learners complete tasks assigned in Google Classroom. Some learners are preparing for the high school equivalency (HSE) exams, e.g. GED, TASC or HiSET. We have three locations in Adams County. Instructors and teacher's assistants are expected to help learners improve one or more levels and advance to the next course and/or take HSE exams. We also expect adults who participate in our courses to be better prepared to get a job or improve their employment opportunities and/or enter post-secondary education and/or an apprenticeship.

Mission Statement
Welcome to the Adult Learning Center. We provide services for individuals 17 years old or older. We can serve 16 year olds only under specific circumstances. All learners in the program have the opportunity to explore career and postsecondary education options. We also incorporate soft skills development into all classes. Learners are provided with options for extending learning outside of the classroom using technology.
Description
The Adult Learning Center is part of Adams County School District 14 and we provide adult education services in multiple locations in Adams County.
2017-18 classes include:
- English as a Second Language - Levels 1-5
- Family Literacy
- Adult Basic Education (Reading, Writing and Math for individuals with skills below high school/secondary level)
- Adult Secondary Education (Reading, Writing and Math for individuals with skills at 9th grade equivalent or higher
- Preparation for the high school equivalency exams (GED, TASC, HiSET)
