ORGANIZATION: THE ALOHA COMMUNITY LIBRARY ASSOCIATION

  • 9 people are interested

The story behind how a book circulates at a library before it's checked out might be as fascinating as the book itself. Behind the scenes, volunteers work diligently to ensure that patrons get the book they want, when they want it. If you're a dedicated lover of literature and libraries, the Aloha Community Library would love your help. This is a dynamic, growing organization with an engaged group of people that work and laugh hard. Come join us!

Volunteer responsibilities include: Check materials in and organize them for shelving to be transferred by courier service, or to be repaired. Depending on the time of day, additional duties may include locating items on the shelves to be placed on hold for patrons, unpacking courier deliveries, and shelving items for patrons to pick up. Requires the ability to enforce multiple county-wide policies; to work cooperatively with employees and volunteers; to focus on a computer screen and read special messages; to bend, stretch, and push carts and bins full of books; and to problem-solve issues that arise.
