Tutor one-on-one with the same child in grades 1 - 3 in a local elementary school once or twice a week for 45 minutes to one hour each session throughout the school year. This is a pull-out program so the volunteer will meet with the student at the school during the school day in a designated location within the school. Children in the Oasis Intergenerational/Hi-Impact Tutoring Program struggle with Literacy Competency and are identified by their teacher to participate and have parental permission.
Oasis provides free 12 hour training at a location near you. Schools participating in the Oasis tutoring program are located on all sides of Indianapolis including Brownsburg, Greenwood, Lawrence, Washington, Warren, Wayne, Pike, Hamilton Southeastern and Indianapolis Public Schools.
