ORGANIZATION: Lenox Hill Neighborhood House

  • 10 people are interested

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, widely recognized as of one New York's premiere human services providers, is a 123-year-old settlement house that provides an extensive array of effective and integrated services which significantly improve the lives of 15,000 people in need each year on the East Side of Manhattan. The Neighborhood House created our Legal Department in 2004 to address the lack of general civil legal organizations in our community. Our newly created monthly Tenants Advice Clinic allows community members to meet with an attorney or legal advocate to get help on housing related issues and landlord-tenant concerns. The volunteer will be responsible for the following:

  • Greet clinic participants and assist them with initial paperwork;
  • Work with supervisor to schedule individual interviews;
  • Provide fact sheets and other information to clients;
  • Conduct clerical duties, including photocopying and data entry;
Volunteers should be able to communicate effectively with multiple visitors in a busy environment, have good organizational skills and basic computer literacy.
