HELP GET KIDS REAL WORLD READY WITH JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF SAN DIEGO!

JA in a Day is a unique initiative that allows volunteer to teach the lessons of Junior Achievement's elementary school program in an effective one-day effort. During the course of JA in a Day, students learn about various aspects of financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. For instance, students in the second grade learn about " Our Community" and will have a chance to see how money moves through a community, creating jobs and generating tax proceeds that pay for schools, parks and streets. In the first grade, the students learn about " Our Families." The JA curriculum introduces students to family members' jobs and how professional careers contribute to the well-being of the family.

What do Junior Achievement Volunteer teach students?

JA programs teach students important real-world concepts in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.

What is expected of the JA volunteer?

The time commitment included one hour training prior to the JA Day. Most JA Days are during the week from 8am to 1pm.

Training

Volunteers will be trained the week of the event in a one hour session. Training takes 1 hour, and can be scheduled in person or online.
