The Gallery Guardian's primary responsibility is to welcome guests and help to be sure they are not disturbing other visitors or disturbing the exhibit. This includes reminding guests that flash photography is not allowed (pictures are o.k.), no food or beverages in the gallery and no leaning on any of the displays. If the Guardian needs to interact with a guest doing any of this, be polite and remind them about our rules which are focused on acting in a way that does not distract others and protects the exhibits. We have 3 security staff on duty all day and one is always viewing a monitor showing the view from cameras located throughout the Museum. Guardians are encouraged to move around and interact with Museum visitors. We also provide an informative binder containing information about the Museum, the Holocaust and the visiting exhibit.
This position also greets our guests and help them with our Mobile App. Volunteers will also help facilitate as guides to our new Dimensions in Testimony exhibition.
