CASA Pre-Service Training in Howard County Maryland

Each year in Howard County Maryland, children are abused and neglected or abandoned by their families. These children are removed from their homes and placed in foster care or institutions. That's where Voices for Children CASA volunteers come in. Our CASA volunteers work to ensure that all children have a safe and permanent home.

Training will begin October 1 as a combination of 2 virtual training sessions, Tuesday evenings, Oct 1 and Oct 8, 6 to 9pm and 1 in-person Oct. 19, 10am to 4pm in Ellicott City. Training focuses on the dynamics of child abuse and neglect, an understanding of the court process and familiarity with community resources. Dates may shift dependent on volunteer availabilty. After completion of training and background checks, volunteers are assigned a child through the court system.
