Even the softest voices need to be heard

Each year in Howard County Maryland, children are abused and neglected or abandoned by their families. These children are removed from their homes and placed in foster care or institutions. That's where Voices for Children Court Appointed Speciall Advocate volunteers come in. Our CASA volunteers work to ensure that all children have a safe and permanent home.

Our next training will begin in June or July, exact dates yet to be determined. Training will be a combination of 2 virtual evening sessions, 6 to 9pm and 1 in-person Saturday, 10am to 4pm in Ellicott City. Training focuses on the dynamics of child abuse and neglect, an understanding of the court process and familiarity with community resources. Dates may shift dependent on volunteer availabilty. After completion of training and background checks, volunteers are assigned a child through the court system.

If you are interested in joining the next class, please complete our application at https://voicesforchildren.org/volunteer/. After we receive your application, we will contact you to set up an interview and give you further details about training.
