ORGANIZATION: Girls on the Run of Atlanta

Who: Volunteers needed (Bring your family, all ages welcome. We can provide community service hours if you or your kids need this for school.) What: GOTR Cheer Zone at Mile 6 of the PNC Atlanta 10 Miler GOTR was selected as one of the Adopt-A-Mile charities, which means we can earn money for our scholarship fund. We start with a base of $1,000 and earn more based on the number of volunteers we have! It's always a fun morning AND we can fund two scholarship teams just by cheering on runners. When: Sunday, October 22, 6:15 am - 9:00 am (we know it's early...we'll have donuts and GOTR tshirts for everyone!) Where: Mile 6, near Piedmont Park (1425 Piedmont Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30309) Theme: 80s workout! Grab your sweatbands, big earrings and leg warmers. We'll have lots of fun tunes.

Description

Girls on the Run is a physical activity based positive youth development program that uses running to develop and enhance girls' social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. Here in Atlanta, we offer programs at elementary and middles schools and community sites in Cobb, Fulton, DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties.
