Knit, purl, volunteer! Are you a savvy knitter who wants to encourage more people to pick up needles and yarn? We’re looking for you! The Knitting Group at Northwest Library is looking for someone to be their fearless leader. The group meets every second Monday of the month from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Welcome patrons to the group and help beginners learn knitting basics. Encourage a friendly group setting.
Skills & Qualifications
- Patient, friendly, welcoming of all ages and skill levels
- Moderate to advanced knitting skills
- Ability to troubleshoot basic knitting challenges
- Be knowledgeable about various knitting resources
- Ability to work independently to facilitate the knitting group
- Be able to commit to 1.5 - 2 hours a month for at least 6 months
- Age 18 or older
Location: Northwest Library, 2300 NW Thurman Street, Portland, OR 9721
The group meets on the second Monday of each month from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.

Description
Multnomah County Library is the oldest public library west of the Mississippi River, with a history that reaches back to 1864. As Oregon's largest public library, Multnomah County Library serves nearly one-fifth of the state's population with a wide variety of programs and services.
The mission of the volunteer program is to engage community members in enhancing the services that Multnomah County Library is able to provide online, at library locations, and in the community. Volunteers are engaged throughout the organization including at all of our 19 libraries and our outreach programs.
