Teach age-appropriate lessons about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness skills to kindergarten through 12th grade students in Dane County. You don't need a teaching degree, but must have a passion for young people and a desire to help them become productive employees, successful business owners, effective managers of their personal finances, and engaged citizens of our community. We provide the lesson plans and all the workbooks, handouts, journals, games, and activities you need, plus training on how to be an effective Junior Achievement volunteer.

About Junior Achievement of Wisconsin - South Central Region

Location:

2800 Royal Avenue, Suite 207, Monona, WI 53713, US

Mission Statement

Junior Achievement is a worldwide organization that inspires and prepares young people for a global economy by bringing volunteer business and community leaders into the classroom to teach work-readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills to young people (K-12 grades).

Description

Junior Achievement (JA) helps students realize the education they are getting today will help them to have a bright future tomorrow. Junior Achievement's unique, volunteer-delivered programs show students (grades K-12) all of the possibilities that lie before them. They realize they can choose different paths: attend college, enter a specific trade, or start their own business. Through your participation with Junior Achievement as an organization or as an individual, you will impact the students in your community. For those youth who have participated in Junior Achievement programs:

90% are confident managing their finances.
93% earn their high school diploma or GED (10% higher than the national average).
20% more income is earned compared to the general population.
88% are satisfied in their careers.

Junior Achievement provides volunteers with the academic-based, hands-on lessons and materials, along with training, to confidently teach financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work-readiness skills in the classroom. Volunteers work with the area's Junior Achievement staff and teachers to provide the lessons and share their knowledge and professional experience with the students.

It's easy, it's fun, and you positively impact the youth and schools in your community.

Junior Achievement of WI - Dane County provides programs in the following counties: Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Iowa, Jefferson, Lafayette, Richland, and Sauk.
