Without diversity, technology will never reach its full potential. Help ChickTech give women and girls an equal say in our future by volunteering at our events as a General Event Volunteer! We welcome volunteers of any gender.
ChickTech is a national non-profit dedicated to supporting and advancing women/girls in technology. Our program consists of a Kickoff event with 5-7 tech workshops and followup workshops throughout the school year, and we are always looking for volunteers to help out at these events. Our General Event Volunteers help out the day of an event during pre-scheduled time slots. Tasks typically include setting up food; checking participants in; dropping in on workshops to make sure workshop leaders have everything they need; helping run workshops; etc.
In addition to the opportunity to positively and directly impact the lives of women and girls in our community, the benefits of volunteering with ChickTech include volunteer experience to put on your resume and networking opportunities with local tech companies and other ChickTech volunteers. ChickTech is dedicated to retaining women and non-binary people in the technology workforce and increasing the number of people of marginalized genders pursuing technology-based careers.
Description
ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.
As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
