Treats and Trails

Treats and Trails is an annual trick or treating event is fun for the entire family. Visitors will walk the trails of the ODC Nature Preserve for a safe and non-scary Halloween event. There will be wildlife encounters, games and lots of candy, barrel rides or seeing the live birds of prey. The North American Wildlife Exhibit in the visitors center will also be open for exploration throughout the event. People are encouraged to wear their costumes.

All Outdoor Discovery Center trails are wheelchair, stroller and wagon-friendly.

Volunteers may help pass out candy, assist visitors with parking, assemble s'mores or deliver replenishment of candy to candy stops.

Mission Statement

The mission of the ODC Network is to create opportunities to discover the wonder of the natural world through outdoor education and recreation experiences and by protecting and connecting natural habitats and greenways for the benefit of wildlife, people, and the environment.

Description

The ODC Network is a non-profit outdoor education organization. Through its programs, demonstration areas and interpretive exhibits, we provide students and community members with up-close views of nature and learning opportunities about the West Michigan environment. Since 2000, the organization has served more than 120,000 children and adults through outdoor education and recreation programs. More than 70,000 people annually visit ODC Network sites to walk the trails and view the wildlife. Thanks to the 2009 merger of the Outdoor Discovery Center and Macatawa Greenway Partnership the organization now protects over 1,200 acres along the Macatawa River in Ottawa County and a 155 acre nature preserve in Fillmore Township.
