If you are a safe driver who enjoys being behind the wheel and wants a volunteer opportunity that makes a life-saving difference, become a Volunteer Driver with Community Blood Center (CBC)!
CBC is looking for dedicated individuals with good driving records to deliver blood/plasma/platelets for critically-ill patients in regional hospitals and/or pick-up donations from donor centers. Weekend and weekday shifts are available. We provide the vehicle, training, fuel and fun--you bring the time and dedication to saving lives!
To join our Drivers for Life team, you must be 21 years of age, be able to lift 35 lbs, pass background screening and Motor vehicle Record checks, be comfortable driving in variable road conditions, have a standard license in KS or a Class E license for Missouri (we will reimburse after 6 months of service), attend an interview, orientation, ride-along and be ready to help save lives. A minimum of 12 hours of service in the first 6 months of volunteering are required. Couples or friends can drive as teams but both will have to complete the application requirements and training.
