ORGANIZATION: Services Now for Adult Persons


SNAP (Services Now for Adult Persons, Inc) is starting a Social Adult Day Program in November for adults 60 and over that have been diagnosed with Early stage Dementia or Alzheimers. Programming for this group will take place in our center every Wednesday from 9:30 AM till 2:30 PM.

There will always be a staff member and a Health Aide in the room. Volunteers are need to assist the clients in planned activities (at the present time there will be a maximum of 5 clients). You might help with an art project, assist them in the music program, bring their lunch to them (you get lunch too if you work the full day) and just chat and listen to the stories and experiences they want to share.

Two volunteers are needed for each session so whether you can commit to every Wednesday, one Wednesday a month or just half a session, we would love to hear from you.

Training will be held for all volunteers. You will NOT be providing any type of medical or health care.

Description

Services Now for Adult Persons Volunteer program is two-fold.

1. We help active senior citizens find volunteer opportunities in the community.

2. We recruit any age volunteers to assist homebound and more frail senior citizens in their every day needs. From just having tea and chatting to shoveling snow, all volunteers are so welcome and so appreciated.
