LaLantern provides services to New Yorkers who have been homeless, to help them rebuild their lives. We are seeking five volunteers to teach basic computer skills to our clients in East Harlem, Washington Heights, Bed-Stuy and Brownsville. Help with computer skills is one of the top services our clients ask for, and this is a chance for you to make a big difference to their employment prospects. Your role: No teaching experience necessary. We provide training and a manual, which you will follow. You will teach clients how to set up an email, basic components of Microsoft Word, and other simple skills. Your commitment: 1.5 hours per week for 12 weeks, between the end of January and early April, during business hours (9 - 5, Monday - Friday).
