Voluntary Agency Liaison Specialist

Will provide administrative, logistical and research support for projects and reports assigned by the Volunteer Agency Liaison group leader. Will describe and clarify federal disaster programs and eligibility requirements to Long Term Recovery Centers based upon established procedures. Will serve as the key point of contact for voluntary agencies for information on government response and recovery activities and act as the point of contact for government on the activities of the VOLAGs. Will maintain disaster-specific files, maintain rosters and contacts for voluntary agencies and will assist with dissemination of information. Responsible for assembly of long term recovery committees, nongovernmental, social service organizations and other service providers to assist in recovery. Will provide information to Agency committees about disaster programs and answer questions regarding individual cases, with written consent.
