ORGANIZATION: Adoration Hospice Indiana

We are searching for individuals willing to share their time and talent with our patients and families. We are in search of Volunteers who are willing to engage with our patients and families in their end of life journey, perhaps you can spare some time to play a game of cards, bingo, read to them or just offer a sense of presence.

We are also in need of Volunteers to assist our office team with answering the phones and assist the Volunteer Coordinator with mailings, phone calls and community outreach. Perhaps you have an hour a week or one time a month. We can help you in meeting the goal of self satisfaction and giving back to the community. No Experience? That's okay as we provide our volunteers with the needed training!

About Adoration Hospice Indiana

Location:

2529 Commerce Drive, Suite A, Kokomo, IN 46902, US

Mission Statement

This hospice provides an individualized program of physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical care for people in the last phases of a life-limiting illness, with an emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms. The program is reflective of a spirit and idea of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, making it possible for them to remain independent for as long as possible, and in familiar surroundings.

Description

Hospice care is centered on both the patient and family/caregiver. Hospice personnel respect and respond to the unique differences in family/caregiver, lifestyle, values, and wishes.

Utilizing an interdisciplinary group approach of physicians, nurses, social workers, homemakers, hospice aides, volunteers, spiritual counselors, bereavement counselors, and others, the hospice provides palliative care in the home, short-term inpatient services, mobilization and coordination of ancillary services, and bereavement support.
