We are looking for people are outgoing and can help our professional start-up theater to raise some funds to do amazing productions for the Lower Westchester, NY community! While we do not yet have a have a permanent location, we want to contact numerous local businesses asking them to contribute even a minimum amount in exchange for promoting their business with our theater during the shows. We will need you help in making phone calls, scheduling meetings, distributing flyers, sending out e-mails, and following up with the local businesses about our promotions. We will also look for larger corporate sponsors in exchange for putting up performances/shows for our potential donors. You will be asked to contact those corporations as well, asking to set up meetings. Your follow-up skills are essential for this job. If you are passionate about arts and culture, if you like to bring professional theater to the local community, if you want to broad the horizons of the local youth by giving them opportunities to learn from true theater professionals - this opportunity is for you.
THE most important skill for this job is the ability to be assertive and confident about our mission when asking for donations! You must be an excellent communicator and a sales person who is not shy and is willing to ask people for money. Please note that we are a non-profit company, and therefore, all donations will be tax-deductible.
In addition, you will also have an opportunity to research various grants and help Stage Love Theater to apply for them-- making sure we adhere to strict deadlines.
AS A VOLUNTEER, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ALLOWED TO SEE OUR SHOWS FOR FREE!!! ARE YOU INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT THEATER? YOU WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH/OBSERVE SOME OF THE BEST DIRECTORS, STAGE MANAGERS, AND ACTORS IN NEW YORK! WE WILL PAY YOUR TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES AND PROVIDE FREE LUNCH FOR IF YOU VOLUNTEER FOR OVER 5 HOURS A DAY.
