Peninsula Family Service needs volunteers to help manage our new Career Closet for our Second Careers program. You would oversee our professional development closet in downtown San Mateo, full of clothes for men and women who are eager to find their place in a new and changing work world.
Our Second Careers Employment Program prepares participants for today’s competitive job market through mock-interviews, vocational counseling, goal planning, resume workshops, paid internships, on-the-job-training, and employment referrals. You would be a vital part of helping our participants look their best for any job interview.

Description
The Senior Peer Counseling Program is a one-on-one and group service provided by trained volunteers who offer confidential emotional support, guidance and empathy to older adults facing challenges such as loneliness, depression, grief, isolation from family and friends and life changes
Peer counselors develop a special bond of trust with older adults who share similar age, experience, values, wisdom and/or culture. Peer Counseling is available in English, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Filipino and to the LGBTQAI+ community.
