ROLE DESCRIPTION
Assisting with Fundraising and Development is a great role for anyone interested in
nonprofit management. Many Executive Directors and CEO’s of nonprofits begin
their journey here! Projects may include making thank you calls to our trusted donors,
research potential partnerships, data management using the donor software Raiser's Edge, and longer term projects for those who are interested in getting more involved and learning the ins-and-outs of fundraising.
Volunteers will get varied experience that will be really valuable if they are interested in working with a nonprofit, such an extensive experience with Raiser’s Edge, a popular donor-database software that is used by nonprofits all over the country.
Desired Qualities and Skills:
* Intermediate computer skills, specifically with MS Excel and internet research
* A special interest around events, individual philanthropy, corporate
philanthropy, corporate relations, event sponsorship and marketing

Description
Over the past 50 years, Venice Family Clinic’s mission of providing quality primary health care to people in need hasn’t changed, but its scope has broadened dramatically. Today, the Clinic has about 400 staff members and more than 1,300 volunteers who serve 28,000 patients, without regard for their ability to pay or immigration status. Its programs have expanded beyond primary medical care to include dental, vision, behavioral health, exercise classes, health education, early childhood development - and street medicine for people experiencing homelessness, to ensure even the most vulnerable of its neighbors get the medical care they deserve.
Our Volunteer Services Department strives to recruit and connect the best volunteers possible with almost every department within the clinic. We work to provide support to the volunteers as well as the clinic teams whom they help. Every year, we work with over 1400 volunteers, including approximately 500 provider volunteers. Our department helps with recruiting, training, scheduling, and general upkeep of all volunteers.
