The Longest Day

The Longest Day is a signature fundraising and awareness campaign of the Alzheimer's Association that encourages people to host their own fundraiser with an activity of their choice. Join The Longest Day Volunteer Committee and connect with others passionate about ending Alzheimers and help to support critical care, support and research in Minnesota and North Dakota. We are looking for individuals who are comfortable making phone calls and doing research and outreach to engage new communities and participants to participate in The Longest Day by hosting their own fundraising event. Training and direction will be provided and the volunteer would need to be comfortable using their own devices (phone and computer) during their volunteer time. Committee members meet 1x per month via zoom with fellow volunteers in addition to monthly projects. Please anticipate 3-4 hours of volunteer time per month.

About Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota

Location:

12701 Whitewater Drive, Suite 290, Minnetonka, MN 55343, US

Mission Statement

The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia -- by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

Description

The Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota has been providing services, information, and advocacy for over 30 years to people with dementia, their families and health care providers. This Chapter is one of seven founding chapters of the National Alzheimer's Association, headquartered in Chicago. It was started by family caregivers who came together around a common need of getting support and help for their loved ones with dementia. Since 1979, our donor-supported, nonprofit Alzheimer's Association has provided reliable information and care consultation; created supportive services for families; increased funding for dementia research; and influenced public policy changes.
