ORGANIZATION: Our City Forest

Join the Tree Team and help turn San Jose from grey to green!

We are planting 16 fifteen-gallon trees on the median near the intersection of Lundy & Geyser. This project is funded by the San Jose Department of Transportation.

Meeting location - Intersection of Lundy Ave and Geyser Dr. We will have a table and signs set up. Planting begins at 9:00 am. If you are volunteering for this event please arrive to the site by 8:45am to sign in.

Bring water, snacks, and sun/rain protection! Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Closed toed shoes are required. This is a RAIN or SHINE event!

REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Please contact our volunteer coordinator at plantingvolunte ers@ourcityfore st.org or 408-998-7337 ext. 108 with any questions. Volunteers must be 16 or older for this specific project due to the location and safety of our volunteers!

Our mission is to cultivate a green and healthy Silicon Valley by engaging community members in the appreciation, protection, growth and maintenance of our urban ecosystem, especially our urban forest.

Description

The ultimate goal of the program is to facilitate the planting of one million trees in Silicon Valley, utilizing one million people. We have planted over 70,000 trees in San Jose, encouraging community members to join us in improving the environmental conditions of their communities. We focus on making a healthy urban forest accessible to all by offering services targeted towards disadvantaged communities because we believe a healthy environment should be available to all people, not just those who have the resources to access it.
