Do you enjoy reading books with children? If so, The South Sound Reading Foundation has the perfect opportunity for you! As part of our Adopt-a-Daycare Program, you will be paired with a child care facility near your home or office, and you will be a "guest reader" on a regular basis. You'll also give away free books to the children at your location!
This opportunity is with our partner organization, the Family Education & Support Services in Mason County. You will need to go through our storytime training process before you can become a reader for our organization.
Date: 4th Wednesday of the month
Time: 10 AM - noon
Location: 601 W Franklin St, Shelton, WA 98584
The office is located on the second floor of the Transit Community Center.
Group size: usually under 10 children, ages 2-14
Extra notes: This storytime serves Spanish-speaking children, and so we would love a storytime volunteer who speaks English & Spanish. Folks who only speak English are encouraged to apply as well! You will also restock the bookshelf we maintain at this location.
