Help get books in kids' hands! Sign up today to deliver books to our Literacy Bookshelf partner organization, the North Thurston Public Schools District Office. When a child visits this site, they get to take a free book home with them. We need you to deliver books once sites a month and restock the shelf during your visit. This is a minimal time commitment with a big impact. Become a Literacy Bookshelf volunteer today!
- One 1.5 hour shift per month (depending on your travel time)
- Location is open Mon-Fri, 7:30-4:30 during the school year
- Mon-Fri, 7:30-3:30 during school summer months

Mission Statement
In an effort to increase the number of children prepared to learn, read, and succeed, the South Sound Reading Foundation exists to ensure that every child is read with or is reading at least 20 minutes a day. Reading just 20 minutes a day promotes healthy brain development, family bonding and school readiness all children need to read and succeed.
Description
We educate and remind children, youth and families about the importance of reading and we strive to get books into every home and into the hands of every child so they have the tools they need to read and succeed. Each year we distribute over 40,000 books!
