Military/Military Veteran volunteers needed to provide emotional support and compassionate care to terminally ill patients in your area. Our specially trained volunteers are in an integral part of Homestead Hospice team. Whether its reading a favorite book, watching a football game, cooking a meal, or helping an overwhelmed family. Volunteering will not only enrich YOUR life, but ALL the lives you touch. There is a short Orientation/ training and a very flexible schedule.
Here's how you can help:
- Provide companionship and friendly visits to patients - flexible schedule!
- Provide assistance in our Augusta office with organization, making goody bags, data entry, etc
- Help our agency provide activities in selected Assisted Living facilities in neighboring areas to Augusta, GA
- Plan and/or lead activities such as arts & crafts, music, bingo, reading etc for the seniors for a couple of hours/ week
- Be apart of the "We Honor Vererans" Program and Pinning

Hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance. However, care is provided regardless of ability to pay.
