  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Adding spice to life of an elder is always a fun way to give to the good of a Community. Making friends with older people can give them a new lease on life and playing cards in a social setting can remind them of a happier time in their lives. Many of these ladies and gentlemen were dropped from groups after the loss of a spouse. Here most of them are widows and have a lot of life left in them and would like to resurrect some of the things they did in the past.

Volunteers can help by spending an afternoon a week with them and getting them back in the game. Some were active bridge players, others m ore simple games like gin rummy, canasta etc.

Giving someone a chance to enjoy games they played in the past can bring back good memories and add a lot of joy to the present time. You, as a volunteer, can make a big difference in their lives by sharing with them, letting them know they are not forgotten.

Get one of your group or several to commit to this worth-while project.
