ORGANIZATION: Learning to Work

10 minute presentation about your role in industry to an audience of 15+yr olds. Q&A from the students about your role.

With the spotlight on Slough's regeneration programme, construction employers have joined forces with Learning to Work to give an insight for those considering their career paths or for those keen to retrain in a booming industry. The event will raise awareness of the diverse career opportunities that exist within the construction sector from design, planning and commercial through to building and interior finishing. Attendees will hear first hand from a range of industry experts, participate in hands on workshops and have the chance to meet and talk to people from a wide variety of roles.

Mission Statement

By providing a link between businesses and schools, Learning to Work creates opportunities to raise aspirations and develop the skills of today’s young people and have been providing this quality service to the world of education and business in the local area for over 20 years.

Description

We currently support over 30,000 children in the local area running curriculum events to assist local schools. The local area being Bracknell, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Slough Borough. We reach out to support both Primary and Secondary education therefore age 4-19yrs. We look for corporate membership and school membership to fund the charitable organisation and have been running successfully for over two decades. We also survive off the generous volunteering offered by both individuals and corporations.
