At Make-A-Wish, we grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The Greater Bay Area Chapter has its headquarters in Oakland and we are granting about 400 wishes per year. In order to grant that many wishes, Make-A-Wish has a base of almost 700 volunteers. We track volunteer activity in our database Raiser's Edge, and want to make sure that the data is clean and precise. This volunteer position will help proofread data entry, as well as help with data cleanup projects. This is a position that is perfect for that nitpicky person who can find minor errors, and make sure everything is perfect.

Volunteer duties include:

• Proofreading data entry, looking for typos and other errors
• Importing .csv spreadsheets into the database, and looking for duplicate records
• Adding records to the volunteer website
• Comparing data that is in a volunteer spreadsheet to what is in the database, and resolving discrepancies

We are looking for someone who can commit to 4 hours per week at our office in downtown Oakland, during our office hours (9am-5pm M-F). There is a minimum six month commitment, and the volunteer must be at least 18 years old.

This volunteer should be proficient with Microsoft Excel, have experience in database environments, and have an eye for details.
