Surgical Department
Become a Surgical Department Volunteer!

Salem Health West Valley's Surgery Department depends on volunteers to keep things running smoothly. Volunteers are responsible for interacting with surgery patients and families, offering beverages and snacks, cleaning and disinfecting stretchers, preparing patient gowns/supplies prior to surgery, interacting with surgical staff to prepare supplies, performing clerical work, and more! This opportunity tends to be exciting for pre-med or pre-nursing students as it occasionally provides the opportunity to observe in surgery! If you're passionate about the medical field and are looking to give back to your community, contact us today!

A note about COVID-19: Salem Health West Valley does not currently admit or perform surgery on known COVID-positive patients. However, we have taken steps to ensure our patients, volunteers, and staff remain safe. Volunteers are required to wear a mask for the duration of their shift, as well as performing frequent hand hygiene and sanitizing equipment.
