Come Celebrate the 2018 Holidays with us on America’s Oldest Continuously inhabited Street, Elfreth's Alley.
Elfreth’s Alley, America’s oldest continuously residential street, is seeking volunteers to help at it’s annual Deck the Alley event on Saturday afternoon, December 1st, 3pm till 7 pm.
Individuals who volunteer for at least a 2 hours shift - will be offered an opportunity to attend the event for free as well and invite a guest to accompany them.
Deck the Alley is an annual Philadelphia Holiday Celebration. It is a ticketed event and a festive street wide celebration that includes many of the private homes on Elfreth’s Alley being open to the public for tours. While Elfreth’s Alley receives thousands of visitors very year, and a Museum House operates throughout the year, this is only one of two days a year, that visitors have an opportunity to step inside many of the other private 18th century homes. We need volunteers to help greet visitors and answer any questions that they might have.
If you are interested in helping at this event please rsvp to attend an information session on Saturday, October 27th from 10-11:30 am or Monday, October 29th from 5:30-7 pm. Light refreshments will be served. There will be giving a short presentation of the history of the Alley as well as the Deck the Alley Event. We will also be discussing logistics and answering questions. The information sessions will be held at the Elfreth's Alley House Museum garden, located at 126 Elfreth's Alley. Please contact Patricia Silverman, at silvermanpatricia@gmail.com or 267.738.5987 or Elaine Morris, at elaine.morris8@comcast.net to respond or for additional information.
