CES delivers food to the elderly and disabled who can't make it to our food shelf.
Our next Top and Deliver Event is Wednesday May 16 from 6 pm to 8:30 pm
Volunteers arrive at CES at 6 pm and weigh grocery bags that have been pre-packed with non-perishable food products. The volunteers then help load the van and accompany CES staff to the Pentagon Apartments at 1415 E 22nd St. During the delivery, volunteers bring groceries to the apartments of each of the recipients. and this gives volunteers a chance to interact and socialize with the Home Delivery recipients. At this type of Home Delivery event, both CES staff & volunteers strive to embody one of the agencies strategic goals, which is "Building & Becoming community" This volunteer opportunity requires a time investment of approximately 2 hours.
Once again, the time of the event is 6:00pm - 8:30pm and we’ll meet at:

1900 11th Ave S
Mpls MN 55404
Park in the parking lot, press the CES intercom to the left of the doors and someone will buzz you in. You can volunteer once or once a quarter or once a month if you have fun!!

Mission Statement
Community Emergency Service transforms lives by serving neighbors, sharing resources and becoming community - a place where people come hungry and leave hopeful.
Description
Community Emergency Service is a multi-service non-profit organization that runs a number of food based assistance programs for Minneapolis residents. Our main programs include: Food Shelf, Meals on Wheels, Home Delivery, Bonus Friday Distribution, and East African Food Distribution.
CES is located within one of the most diverse, densely populated neighborhoods in Minneapolis; over 20,000 people live within its boundaries. 46% of families living in the Phillips neighborhood are below the federal poverty level.
At CES, we strive to serve all our neighbors in need without distinction or test. We invite support from volunteers and donors and are open to collaboration with other agencies, regardless of religious affiliation.
Will you help us move people from hunger to hope?
