The mission of the Clover Foundation is to enable young children living in the urban slums of Uganda to have the health, confidence, and ability to grow and become the change in their community.

Founded in 2013, Clover now supports 71 preschool and primary school children and an interest-free loan program for the children's mothers so that they might better provide for their families.

With a large waiting list for admission to its free preschool in Busega, Clover is having a growing impact in the community.

Clover is a 501 (c)3 organization in the United States and is an NGO in Uganda. Clover has both American and Ugandan boards that work in close partnership.

The governance committee of Clover's US board of directors seeks to fill an open board position with a director focused on marketing/communications. The responsibilities of the marketing/communications director would be to: lead the marketing and communication of Clover with support from volunteers

. Formulate a communications strategy that both strengthens and broadens our base of support

. Set the editorial tone for the organization to appeal to new and existing donors

. Establish a communications calendar

. Set the direction for and manage the Clover website

. Formulate a social media strategy and lead a small team of volunteers to publish social content

. Support the fundraising and events committees in the development of the message, tone and content for their outreach

. Develop and lead a volunteer communications committee

The day-to-day work of Clover in the US, where our primary responsibility is to raise the funds for Clover in Uganda, is handled by an entirely volunteer board and a growing number of non-board volunteers. The marketing/communications director will attend monthly board meetings and fulfill all other responsibilities of a nonprofit board.
