LW!

Are you fascinated by architecture? New York City? History?

Are you inspired to fight for the preservation of New York's architectural legacy?

Are you looking for a way to learn more about these subjects, while helping in the fight to protect the physical history and human scale which give New York its unique and beloved character?

If so, we're looking for your help. LANDMARK WEST! is a preservation watchdog and advocacy group that has been fighting for the protection of architecture on Manhattan's Upper West Side for over 30 years. We are currently working to catalog all the landmarks in our historic districts, and we are looking for some dedicated volunteers to help out with compiling our online database.

The job entails reading designation reports and entering information on buildings listed, along with photographs and map coordinates, into an online template, and then adding the newly created entries to our public database.

Requisites: Must be comfortable using basic online tools. Coding experience is not needed, but prior experience working with website builders such as WordPress would be helpful.

Hours: Flexible, an afternoon a week, perhaps, at a time that works with your schedule. Our office hours are 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday.
