Looking for Volunteers to help on Friday, November 3rd, to set up for our event that we will be hosting on Saturday, November 4th.

Tasks include:

  • Rearranging desks & chairs
  • Checking Audio & Visual for the Film
  • Carrying Supplies to event space
Event Description:

Community members and professionals of different backgrounds and specialties will be viewing the film "Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope" (A TUGG Film).
Afterwards, they will be participating in a 30 minute conversation to analyze the film and the affects that trauma has on our youth's resilience and how it effects our community.

The daily trauma our children and adults experience effects our health, learning ability, and safety. Come hear about Community Trauma and how WE can address it.

Volunteer Perks:
  • Can view the film at no cost (Nov 4th)
  • Free Light Breakfast and beverages (Nov 4th)
  • Opportunity to Network with community members and professionals in the field of Law Enforcement, Government, Health Care, Education, Safety
  • Opportunity to learn about Community Trauma and Resilience
  • Ability to give input to people who can help make a change

Description

The Urban Collaborative Project is an inclusive effort through Community outreach, by neighborhoods, Town Councils and other neighborhood stakeholders to make safety, civic engagement, health and beautification, a neighborhood practice, making our communities more vibrant, informed and connected. All premised on the belief that vibrant neighborhoods are critical to the overall success of our City.

Major areas of focus for us is Community Trauma and Resilience which includes Trauma informed Policies, K-12 school support, Healthy Food access, Community infrastructure/Placemaking, Family Support and enhancement, Resident Leadership Training, and inter-organizational Action Teams.

Through our continued Self Healing Community model, we have begun to have our community identify indicators, prioritize them and begin working on solutions through working together and measuring our progress.
