About

DOG TRAINING VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTION

Because behavioral issues are one of the main reasons pet parents relinquish their pets, we are proud to offer dog training services to those parents who are having trouble communicating with their pet through the Dogs Are Family Dog Training program. The ultimate goal of the program is to keep each dog in their home for life through positive reinforcement training, and by providing a fun and positive atmosphere where pets and families can bond! Volunteers are needed to help set up and take down training equipment. Dog training classes will be on Saturdays, starting on February 3rd and ending on March 17th. Set up will begin at 7:30am, and take down will start at about 12:30pm.

  • Background check and signed waiver

TRAINING

There will be an "on the job" training program. You will be working with the dog trainer, who will provide instructions on how to set up all training equipment.

ABOUT US

The St. Augustine Humane Society promotes healthy, responsible, lifelong pet ownership in our community. We offer many important services to help pet parents keep their pets, rather than relinquishing them to a shelter. Some of the services we offer include our low cost, high volume spay/neuter program, our low cost wellness clinic, positive reinforcement dog training classes, and the pet food pantry. We rely on talented and dedicated volunteers to assist with these programs, and to ensure that all pets and pet parents receive the care and services they need. By offering low-cost veterinary services and serving as a resource center for our community, we are able to provide affordable assistance to all, making our clinic the only one of its kind in St. Johns County.
