Newly arrived refugees have a number of appointments when they first arrive to Lincoln. Refugees have no driver’s license, are unfamiliar with the area and local transportation systems, and need assistance with transportation to and from these appointments. These appointments may include such things as medical appointments, job interviews, and grocery shopping. As a volunteer, you would be introduced to a variety of people and with helping them with important tasks to their new lives in Lincoln.

Requirements: Potential volunteers must pass a criminal background check. Volunteers must also provide a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for a DMV check. This position is looking for volunteers available weekdays on a one-time, occasional, weekly, or monthly basis.
