Become an AARP TaxAide program volunteer!

The TaxAide program offers free tax help to people who make less than $54,000, persons with disabilities, and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns.

We are in need of 3 types of volunteers:

1. Greeters
2. Tax Preparers
3. Translators

AARP will provide 5 days of training for new tax preparers and 3 days for returning volunteers.

The requirement for Tax Preparer is as follows:
1. You must attend the 5 day training class from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; the tentative dates are:

• December 17
• January 2
• January 9
• January 16
• January 23

2. Pass the online IRS Certification
3. Complete Tax Return Exercises which will be graded
4. Be computer literate

The Knightdale Site will be open Tuesdays from 9:30 am - 3:00 pm and Saturdays (1st & 3rd) each month from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm beginning February 5th through April 15th.
