ORGANIZATION: Compass Housing Alliance

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers from the cosmetology field to assist us in providing self-care days for the residents of our Cascade Women’s Shelter. From haircuts to manicures, wherever your talent lies our women can benefit from your unique skills.

Shifts are very flexible, but we ask volunteers can participate at least once a month for three months during the shift of their choosing.

Time & supplies used will be recorded as a tax deductible donation.

Our focus is on helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness navigate their way to stability, growth, and community.

Compass Housing Alliance provides a range of essential services and housing options to people struggling with homelessness and poverty in the Seattle area. With 20+ locations, we are able to serve a large number of those in the community.

Our focus areas fall into the following categories:

  1. Services, shelter, and transitional housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
  2. Permanent low-income housing for individuals or families who do not make a living wage or are formerly homeless.
  3. Development of affordable housing units for low-income tenants.
