Mission Statement
Our vision is to promote fair trade and economic justice by opening a Ten Thousand Villages Store in State College, PA
Description
Ten Thousand Villages of Central PA, Inc. is a non-profit organization working to open a Ten Thousand Villages store in the State College area. We are in the early stages of fund raising and planning for the store.
For over twenty years, University Mennonite Church has held annual Ten Thousand Villages sales, and based on their popularity and success, we believe the State College community offers an exceptional market that would support a permanent Ten Thousand Villages store.
A permanent store in State College would expand the market for Ten Thousand Villages products throughout the Centre Region. This market expansion will promote social justice by creating opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn a living wage through long-term, fair trading relationships.
As we develop our plans, we envision involving and being supported by a broad base of individuals, faith, and civic groups across the State College community and beyond.
