City Lights Theater Company is seeking community members interested in joining our board of directors. Potential board members should have a love for the arts, but are not required to have an arts background or training. At City Lights we practice what we consider radical hospitality. We strive to be fun, positive, collaborative, supportive, and above all -- welcoming. Serving on the board of directors provides an opportunity for volunteers to be engaged in the strategic planning of the organization, as well as provide valuable day-to-day insight for staff and other volunteers. CLTC board members are our greatest ambassadors: they promote our season, attend each production and participate in our annual fundraising event. City Lights board members agree to make a personally significant donation, as well as fundraise on behalf of the organization. Additionally, board members are required to attend monthly board meetings, as well as participate in at least one committee. Since 1982, City Lights Theater Company, a San Jose-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has created provocative live productions that engage, inspire, and challenge audiences and artists alike through innovative concepts, intimate staging, and uncompromising storytelling. CLTC produces seasons of six plays a year in its intimate 100-seat venue, as well as a music series and new works festival.
