Mission Statement
Sacks Thrift exists to provide major financial support for the Sexual Assault Counseling Center, which provides outreach and advocacy for those whose lives have been affected by sexual assault; to provide major financial support for the Help Center, a local 24-hour crisis counseling and referral hotline, 406.586.3333, which includes suicide prevention; to offer affordable merchandise to the local community; to work with local service agencies to provide merchandise to those in need; and to encourage responsible recycling of quality goods.
Description
Sacks Thrift in Bozeman and Belgrade are non-profit thrift stores whose only source of funding comes through donations of quality used merchandise from local community members. All quality donated merchandise is sold through the stores with all proceeds, after operating costs, directly benefiting the Help Center, which has a 24-hour crisis line, 406.586.3333, that includes suicide prevention, the Sexual Assault Counseling Center (SACC), and a 211 line for social services located in Bozeman, and the Child Advocacy Center (CAC). Because the stores primarily exist to provide major financial support to the Help Center and SACC, volunteer support is crucial to insuring store productivity remains high while store operating costs remain low. We have many opportunities for volunteers to find their niche within the organization. For more information on Sacks, or to fill out a volunteer application, please visit us at www.sacksthrift.org. You will find complete information about the Help Center and SACC at www.bozemanhelpcenter.org.
