ORGANIZATION: The Health Trust

We need a Community Engaging Newsletter Creator for our program AGEnts for Change.

AGEnts are about community and building a strong community that listens to the needs of our citizens and magnifies the voices of all our older adults.
AGEnts for Change are Community Advocates for older adults. AGEnts can be older adults, family members, Agency Workers, Organization leaders, Students or any one who is dedicated to making sure that Older Adults have their basic needs met in our Community, These basic needs start with Safety and end in support from the entire community. AGEnts build strong support networks for our older citizens so they are not alone and isolated. AGEnts work to sustain healthy happy lives for older adults. AGEnts are a policy and planning focused group who work to change lives for good. AGEnts for Change advocate for affordable sustainable FAIR Housing, fair and accessible and affordable transportation, and they work together to ensure a healthy lifestyle that includes a healthy income, strong community as well as healthy food choices. Silicon Valley is a designated AGE Friendly County and AGEnts for Change is the 'watchdog' to make sure that our county is age friendly for EVERY one.

Mission Statement

Our Mission: To build health equity in the Silicon Valley.

Description

Our Vision:

The Health Trust believes every Silicon Valley resident should have the opportunity to live a healthy life.

How:

We at The Health Trust believe that if Silicon Valley is a community where innovation is changing the world, then it also can be a community where innovation changes the lives of everyone - especially our most vulnerable residents - for the better.

As we strive to make our vision reality, we reflect the values of Silicon Valley. When we tackle a problem, we take the broad view. We rely on expertise, partnerships and best practices to generate solutions that will have the greatest impact on those we serve. We invest in projects that are sustainable, show measurable results and provide the greatest return on investment for the community.

With a strong emphasis on prevention, we focus our work through three initiatives: Healthy Living, Healthy Aging and Healthy Communities. Through direct services, we are helping one person at a time. And through policy advocacy and grantmaking, we are changing the local environment to promote healthy eating, healthy aging and healthy living.
