Bread for the City’s Holiday Helpings campaign provides low-income DC residents with a turkey and all the trimmings so they may enjoy a celebratory holiday meal at home with their families. With your help, we will feed thousands of low-income DC residents during the Thanksgiving season!
All volunteer participants are asked to sign Bread for the City's general liability waiver, available in the volunteer documents section of our website, www.breadforthecity.org/volunteer. Click here to learn more about what to expectwhen you serve!

The mission of Bread for the City is to help Washington, DC residents living with low income to develop the power to determine the future of their own communities. We provide food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty. We seek justice through community organizing and public advocacy. We work to uproot racism, a major cause of poverty. We are committed to treating our clients with the dignity and respect that all people deserve.
Description
Bread for the City offers food and clothing, social services, legal counsel, and medical care at no cost to eligible clients. Anyone living in the District of Columbia who meets income guidelines and other program requirements (such as lack of health insurance) may be eligible for help at Bread for the City.
