Hello there!
We will need a few different things, so check out the options below. We have a yearly fundraiser that is a lot of fun and a lot of work. We could use a few levels of help. Some people will need to be available a bit between now and the date of the event, and some will only need some information a month in advance.
At our fundraising event, we bring in food vendors who hand out samples of their best chocolate item to the ticket holders. About 350 people attend. There is a silent auction and a live auction. A lot happens in about 3.5 hours, and we need many hands to make light work. Admission is free if you volunteer. We will give you detailed times of arrival at the event, depending on what role you will play.
First, we will need some volunteer leads.
These people will maintain contact with me directly, in order to learn the ropes. Then, when we get to February and March, we will need you to connect with your team of volunteers, in order to make sure THEY know the ropes. Lastly, you will be their contact person at the actual event.
What we will count on you to do:
- Save the Date of Sunday, April 22 so that you will definitely be available.
- Be responsive to my occasional communications between November and February.
- Remain teachable while we bring you up to speed. Some positions require more detail than others.
- Take ownership of connecting with and educating your team no later than the end of February.
- Arrive on time, and remain available.
- Stay in contact with me and with your team at the event.
- Follow through.
Our other need is general volunteer team members.
As a team member, you will work closely with your team lead who has agreed to be available to you, and to make sure you know by the end of February what will be expected of you at the event. Then, we will need you to do your part at the event, to make sure things go swimmingly.
What we will count on you to do:
- Save the Date of Sunday, April 22 so that you will definitely be available.
- Be responsive to your team lead when he/she reaches out to you in February and March.
- Be teachable so that our best practices work together to make a success!
- Arrive on time at the event, and plug in with your team lead.
- Follow through.
It can be a LOT of fun! Hope to hear from you.
