Bunnies aren’t just adorable, sweet creatures, they are remarkably misunderstood and underrepresented as companion animals.
We strive to to change all of that everyday, for as many bunnies as we can. Since 1988 House Rabbit Society has worked to rescue over 30,000 rabbits! Join our amazing team of volunteers that are making a difference in the lives of countless rabbits!
Volunteer work ranges from feeding the rabbits veggies, brushing and grooming, habitat upkeep, and various projects, to more specific roles, such as:

The House Rabbit Society believes that ALL rabbits are valuable as individuals, regardless of breed, temperament, state of health, or relationship to humans. The welfare of all rabbits is our primary consideration. Our mission has two parts: Through our intake program, we rescue rabbits who are out of time at local animal shelters and find permanent adoptive homes for them; through education, we seek to reduce the number of unwanted rabbits -- and to improve bunnies' lives -- by helping people better understand these often misunderstood companion animals.
The House Rabbit Society is a nonprofit organization devoted to the rescue of rabbits, the third most popular house pet as well as the third most euthanized animal in America. We have several volunteer opportunities for individuals with a passion for the humane treatment of animals and an eagerness to learn about rabbits and the nonprofit sector.
We'll work with your schedule.
