The Literacy Council is in search of volunteer tutors in Spanish. We have students that do need the extra one on one time. Please call Tonya at 828.526.0863 to Sign Up to be a volunteer tutor in Spanish.
Please note- this is for English speaking students learning Spanish, not to be confused with Spanish speaking students learning English. We provide ESL instruction in a separate class.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Literacy Council of Highlands is to enrich lives and expand the knowledge of children, adults and families in Macon County through diverse educational programs that advance literacy in its many forms and to promote lifelong learning, which results in an informed and empowered community.
Description
The Literacy Council of Highlands was incorporated in November of 1993. Now, more than two decades later, The Literacy Council serves hundreds of students per month.
