SCARECROWS SETUP - October 10th & 11th - We will be setting up for the Scarecrows in the Park competition. The Foundation will set up and decorate a small tent/table as our "headquarters" for the three weeks of the Fall Festival. On these days, we also assist the competitors with the assembly of their Scarecrows displays. The hours are 9:00 AM to 5:20 PM on the 10th, and 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the 11th. The contact is Kathy Busick, copied here. This is a good opportunity for those who are handy and like to be outdoors.
VIP PARTY SETUP - October 12th - we invite the competitors to a Halloween-themed party at the park pavilion closest to the pumpkin patch. The winners of the Celebrity Judged portion of the competition are recognized at this event. We could use some hands for setting up tables, putting up decorations and then taking it all down. I don't have specific times or a contact yet, but the party goes from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, so setup and takedown would be before and after. This would be a fun opportunity for those who like to decorate and be creative.
SCARECROWS AMBASSADORS - October 11th - 27th, various shifts available - This is probably the most fun assignment. Volunteers are posted to the Scarecrows display area; they hand out voting tokens and encourage Fall Festival guests to vote for their favorite scarecrows. Costumes are encouraged! There is a more detailed description and a signup link below my signature. Shifts are two hours each but there is no limit - sign up for as many as you wish. Minimum age is 16 unless accompanied by a parent/guardian for the duration of the volunteer's shift(s). This is a great opportunity for those who are friendly and are really into Halloween!
