Project HEAL is actively recruiting Social Support Mentors in 7 areas across the United States, including Pittsburgh, PA for our new support program, Communities of HEALing (COH). Communities of HEALing Social Support Mentors are individuals with no personal history of an eating disorder, focused on expanding aspects of life unrelated to the eating disorder through participating in community, advocacy, leisure, and social activities. We are looking to secure at least 4 individuals in the Pittsburgh area who can commit at least 2-3 hours per week of their time to meet with their mentee once a week to begin around mid-November 2017. Anyone interested should complete this application:

Mission Statement

Project HEAL is a 501(c)3 non- profit organization that provides access to healing for all people with eating disorders.

Description

Since its founding in 2008, Project HEAL has provided over 100 applicants with access to live-saving treatment for their eating disorder, established over 30 Chapters and 25 Ambassadors bringing Project HEAL's mission and values to communities across the United States, and developed partnerships with more than 30 recognized eating disorder treatment providers across the US. The primary function of Chapters is to serve as robust local recovery communities that offer resources for those affected by eating disorders and opportunities to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of those affected by eating disorders.

We are an organization with a large volunteer base and have many volunteer opportunities available year-round. We are always looking for new people who have an interest in and passion for helping others suffering from eating disorders, poor body image, and low self-esteem.
