Gaithersburg Middle School is seeking Spanish-language interpreters for Parent-Teacher Conferences in November. This position allows parents to fully participate in building a relationship with their child’s teacher and to learn about their child’s educational experience at Gaithersburg Middle School. We are looking for 10-14 interpreters depending on their availability.
Volunteers are asked to offer a minimum shift of 2 hours, but we would appreciate it if volunteers could stay longer. Volunteers need to arrive 30 minutes before their shift begins to receive a brief training, map of the school, and to meet the teacher(s) they will be assisting.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Knowledge of educational terminology is a plus
- Responsible and dependable
