The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) will be hosting a goalball event for blind and visually impaired athletes in Eugene, OR. The event will take place on the at the University of Oregon, in Gerlinger Hall, room B50. We are looking for volunteers to assist in guiding our athletes through the basic skills of goalball. Volunteers do not need to have previous experience working with individuals who are blind or visually impaired or with goalball. The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes [NWABA] enriches lives and provides opportunities for children, youth, adults and veterans who are visually impaired. When individuals with visual impairments experience sports and recreation they have more self-confidence and open up to the possibility that they really can pursue their dreams in both sports and life. Our athletes leave behind sedentary isolated lives and they gain skills, confidence and joy.
